Thomas Evans was born and raised in Charleston, SC. The son of a hard working single mom, he lived the latchkey, trailer park lifestyle. While it may have been this upbringing that made Thomas strive for better things, its hard to understand what makes him take life by the horns with the attitude that he can do anything he sets his mind to.
In the 90′s Thomas was into cars and even graced the pages of Lowrider magazine from time to time. When 1999 came around Thomas had became infatuated with streetbikes and stuntriding. It was this passion and that “bull by the horns” attitude that led him to host one of the first motorcycle stuntriding competitions in the United States. After this event, Thomas traveled down a long and windy road that has taken him all over the world and landed him in California. All in the name of creating a new action sport and elevating it into the mainstream.
Life has been far from easy for Thomas, to this he remarks “When life gave me lemons, I took the shot of Patron with some pickle juice and left the lemon on the bar!”
Nowadays we find Thomas has slowed his stuntriding work schedule a bit. He still travels to his main staple events, the XDL series, where he serves as host and competition director and you can catch him hosting some select shows for companies such as BMW, Supercross, Monster Jam, Shift Racing or even Moto GP and WSBK. He also regularly books athletes for motorcycle stunt shows around the world and has played an instrumental role in bringing the sport to the attention of the X-Games along with his XDL Partner Randy Grube and all the riders, who, as he says, “have been down for the cause.” The main reason that he has narrowed his focus is because the XDL series is being filmed for a docudrama entitled “Inside XDL.” Thomas is vested in the XDL series and the show, he considers this to be one of the “biggest breaks” that true core lifestyle stuntriders have ever gotten. “Inside XDL” airs on Versus Network in October 2010.
Thomas owns the Stuntride Brand, which includes Stuntride Magazine, Internet Forums, Stuntride Clothing, Stuntride TV and more. Stuntride is the number one source for motorcycle stuntriding information and it is poised for long term growth with the sport and lifestyle.
Another venture Thomas has embarked on is the creation of a streetwear clothing line called “United Stacks.” For this line, he is partnered with a few key people and has high hopes that U$ will slowly grow to become a great streetwear brand for years to come.
When asked for some personal comments for this page, Thomas remarked (sic) “I dunno, I like animals… building businesses, Politics unfortunately lol, Stuntriding and motorcycles of course, music, I’m getting back into cars, StreetwearFashion is new to me, I rep Famous Stars and Straps and have United Stacks also..I have a nice little collection of Shelltoe adidas! I love traveling for pleasure now, Vegas, Tahoe, MMA fights, LA whatever, whenever, I am down to jump on a plane. I guess I have just been about my business for so long that it kinda took over my life. I want to have some fun now! I would like to fully host a TV show for sure, I cant wait to see how ‘Inside XDL’ turns out, but I want my own show also”
